Joan Scott

Joans work is inspired by recollections of the local countryside and coast. To her, drawing is an important creative skill - sometimes the results are used as a basis for painting. Joans love of colour and texture is evident in her mixed media paintings as well as the abstract and semi-abstract compositions she creates with acrylic on canvas. She paints what she feels rather than what she sees, letting the painting lead the way and its creation becomes a journey of discovery until the final image emerges.

Joan studied Fine Arts at the Arts Institute, Bournemouth (now AUB). She was the winner of the CADarts Open Exhibition, and has had paintings selected for Exhibitions at the Mall Galleries, London (Discerning Eye and Society of Women Artists). Her work is in private collections around the world.
